C20 Soil Builder by Precision Organics is a granular carbon food source for existing soil microorganisms, including bacteria and fungi. Made from grain by-products bound with molasses, it feeds soil biology to support soil structure and nutrient cycling. Commercial package sizes support planning for landscape contractors, turf managers, sod installation, overseeding, and compacted landscape soils.

Choose your commercial package

  • Full pallet: 40 × 40 lb bags. 1,600 lb net product weight, packaged in individual bags for allocation across projects.
  • Bulk tote: 1,500 lb. A bulk package for larger treatment areas.
  • ALL FULL PALLETS AND BULK TOTES REQUIRE FREIGHT.

Package weights are net product weights, not packed freight weights.

Request a freight quote

To receive a freight quote, complete the RMBA Freight Form. Include specific instructions identifying C20 Soil Builder, the size you want (full pallet of 40 × 40 lb bags or 1,500 lb bulk tote), and the quantity of pallets or totes requested.

Supports soil biology, structure, and nutrient cycling

C20 feeds existing soil bacteria and fungi. Biological activity helps soil particles form aggregates, creating pore space for air, water, and roots. Soil microorganisms also help release nutrients from organic matter. C20 is not a microbial inoculant and is not a replacement for a soil-test-based fertility program.

Commercial application planning

The manufacturer's overview provides the following rates. Follow the current package label for use directions.

  • 10 lb per 1,000 sq ft: Seasonal microbial aeration, salt mitigation, hydroseeding, overseeding, and new sod installation.
  • 20 lb per 1,000 sq ft: Lawn rejuvenation for compacted soil and tree rootzone restoration.
  • 40 lb per 1,000 sq ft: Soil remediation for severely compacted or construction-damaged soils.

Calculated coverage per pallet or tote

Use these planning calculations with the overview rate appropriate to your application. Coverage equals net product weight divided by the application rate, multiplied by 1,000 sq ft. These are calculated treatment areas, not guaranteed results or a recommendation to use the lowest rate.

  • At 10 lb per 1,000 sq ft: A 1,600 lb pallet covers 160,000 sq ft; a 1,500 lb tote covers 150,000 sq ft.
  • At 20 lb per 1,000 sq ft: A 1,600 lb pallet covers 80,000 sq ft; a 1,500 lb tote covers 75,000 sq ft.
  • At 40 lb per 1,000 sq ft: A 1,600 lb pallet covers 40,000 sq ft; a 1,500 lb tote covers 37,500 sq ft.

Gardening rate: Apply 2 lb per 100 sq ft for flower beds and landscape or vegetable gardens.

Application and handling

  1. Select the rate appropriate to the intended use.
  2. Spread evenly using granular turf equipment when temperatures are above freezing.
  3. Irrigate after application. For new sod, the manufacturer recommends applying beneath the sod during installation.

C20 needs oxygen. Do not apply to soils with standing water or continuously saturated soils, or cover treated areas with impervious barriers such as water bags or landscape fabric. Broad-spectrum fungicides, biocides, and fumigants are exceptions to compatibility with most soil treatments. Store dry and away from pests.

Tree and shrub cautions: Do not apply to plants already dead or dying. For significantly stressed plants that are not dead or dying, resolve the cause of stress before applying at half rate. Remove landscape fabric before treatment. Apply outside the water-bag perimeter, not beneath a water bag.
