The Reed Sedge Peat is a great product! It is so smooth and fine. Awesome for sprinkling a light layer over grass and microclover seeds. The areas in which I have used it definitely help with water retention, which helps with germination! I see sprouts coming up in those areas. I bought this product because I have a private well and can't use the usual chemical weed killers. I was stunned by how quickly this product tamed my overwhelming red and white clover. Within hours, the clover flowers and leaves were wilted. By the next morning they were sagging. When the sun came up, they turned black and died. This all happened in less that 12 hours. It was just what I needed. One drawback -- I live in Virginia and the product is only available in CO (as far as I can tell). The shipping cost is a little high, but when your choices are few . . . .
