Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter is Biodegradable

Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter

Made from 100% Calcium Magnesium Acetate (CMA), Winter Warrior’s ice melt is the best way to keep your sidewalks and driveway clear during the winter. CMA is biodegradable and very safe for the environment. Acetate biodegrades down to carbon dioxide and water, so you can rest easy knowing that this product is not harmful to the planet.

Winter Warrior’s CMA ice melt product also has a typical pH of 8-10 in a 10% solution, making it a safe and effective way to melt ice. Don't let the cold weather keep you from enjoying your home or business!

CMA Ice Melt Products are Non-Corrosive

Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter is a great product to use around areas containing steel or metal because it is chloride free and completely non-corrosive. In fact, CMA is added to ice melts to act as a corrosion inhibitor. This makes it a great product to use on roads and bridge decks.

Winter Warrior’s CMA-Based Ice Melt is Safe on Concrete

When it comes to de-icing your driveway or walkway, you want to make sure you're using a product that is safe for your concrete and the environment. Winter Warrior’s CMA-based ice melt is one of those products. It's non-toxic and environmentally friendly, and it won't harm or alter concrete like other deicers on the market.

In fact, it doesn't cause any concrete spalling, which can lead to costly repairs. So, if you're looking for a safe and effective way to melt the ice this winter, Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter is the product for you.

Winter Warrior’s Ice Melt is Powerful to 10°F (-12°C) for Optimal Deicing All Winter Long

Freshly Shoveled Driveway

It’s not all about looks, people. When it comes to melting ice, the CMA family is top of the class. With a working temperature of 10˚F (-12˚C), it can take on even the frostiest conditions. That’s a good thing, too, because with winter coming, we’re all going to need a little help keeping our roads and sidewalks clear.

Sure, rock salt is effective at melting ice down to 5˚F (-9˚C), but when the temperatures start dropping below that, it’s time to call in the big guns. Not only are CMA-based ice melts more powerful than rock salt, but they’re also environmentally friendly. So, while you may not think of them as being tough, don’t let their pretty faces deceive you – the CMA family can handle whatever winter throws your way.

CMA-Based Ice Melts are Chloride- and Nitrogen-Free

When you de-ice your driveway or sidewalk, you want to make sure that you are using a product that is pet safe and eco-friendly. Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter is completely chloride and nitrogen free, meaning it’s safe. Deicers like urea contain nitrogen, which breaks down to ammonia and is quite toxic to aquatic life, even at low levels. So, if you're looking for a safe and environmentally friendly option, Winter Warrior’s CMA-based deicer is the product for you!

Green Building Compliant Ice Melt

There are many misconceptions about the LEED certification process, and one of the most common is that any product labeled "green" or "environmentally friendly" will automatically qualify for a LEED credit. This is not true.

In order to receive a LEED credit, the product must meet one of two options. It must only use deicers that contain 100% calcium magnesium acetate (CMA), or it must show that environmentally preferred deicers were used at least 20% of the time during the performance period.

What Counts as an Environmentally Preferable Deicer?

Winter Warrior Enviro LEADer

Basically, anything that contains less than 5% sodium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, potassium chloride, potassium acetate, ammonia-based products, and ferrocyanide products. Some manufacturers try to mislead consumers into thinking their salt-based products meet LEED standards, but this is not the case. Only products that meet one of the two options mentioned earlier will qualify for a LEED credit.

Note: This product is not LEED certified. Winter Warrior’s Enviro Leader Icemelter is an alternative that does have LEED certification.

Winter Warrior CMA Icemelter is Easy to Apply

Winter Warrior’s CMA ice melt product can be applied in its solid pellet form or can be made into a liquid. In pellet format, this ice melt should be applied at a rate of 15-20 lbs. per 1,000 square feet (75-100 g/m²). It can also be mixed with salt and sand.

To convert the product into a liquid, dilute 25% product into 75% water. CMA in liquid form is often used as deicer.
