Winter Warrior Runway Control® is a specially formulated Eco-friendly, biodegradable, non-corrosive deicer, for use in highly sensitive areas, such as airports or some delicate commercial institutions. It is 100% chloride and urea free. Winter Warrior Runway Control® is a federally approved for use on airport runways, taxiways and aprons. This powerful, non-corrosive, biodegradable, special acetate formulation works to -6°F (-21°C) and is safe on the environment! Winter Warrior Runway Control® meets all FAA and Transport Canada approved specifications (SAE AMS 1431B). It is approved for use on airport runways, taxiways and aprons and meets LEED standards regarding snow and ice removal for LEED Certified Properties! Winter Warrior Runway Control® has been developed with a special process of encapsulating Sodium Acetate with a Sodium Formate additive. May be applied as a granule or can be made into a liquid. Application rate is 10 pounds per 1,000 sq. feet or to make a liquid dilute 25% product into 75% water (1:3 ratio). In granule form 55 pounds will cover 5,500 sq. ft. A pallet or tote will cover 220,000 sq. ft. and a truckload will cover 4,180,000 sq. ft.

Great choice for runway, taxiways and aprons, as it does not contain chlorides that can cause corrosion to metals. Most airports are concerned about the effects of their ice melter on the steel embedded in the concrete and the surfaces of vehicles used upon those concrete areas. Also the perfect solution for areas with exposed or sensitive metals, such as bridge decks, vessel decks, ferries, drilling platforms and transit or railway platforms.
Powerful to -6°F (-21°C)
Very powerful deicer that works down to temperatures as low as -6°F (-21°C). It works faster than urea, sodium chloride and requires less material than common ice melters to achieve similar results. The product is exothermic and gives off heat as it dissolves, melting the ice faster than other deicers.
Readily biodegrades at low temperatures and when compared to urea has a relatively low biological oxygen demand.
Safe on the Environment
Perfect choice when considering the impact on the environment. Does not contain any nitrogen like urea and has a relatively low biological oxygen demand. In fact, most airports are now monitoring the water run-off to check for nitrogen (ammonia) contamination.
Special Acetate Formulation
Manufactured using a process of granulating a sodium acetate and sodium formate solution. This process gives our product the ability to work longer and better than other NAAC products on the market.

Traditionally urea has been used at airports, however, urea contains nitrogen and breaks down into ammonia whereby the run-off becomes toxic to aquatic life even at low levels.
