It is helpful to note how Finalsan operates compared to synthetic, systemic options like glyphosate (Ground Clear). Finalsan is an organic, contact-only herbicide made from ammoniated soap of fatty acids. It works by rapidly stripping the plant’s waxy cuticle to dehydrate the foliage. Because it is a contact spray and does not translocate to the roots, tough, deep-rooted perennials like mature dandelions may attempt to push new growth back up.
There are three rates of application. I would suggest using the highest rate and thoroughly coat the weeds to drip off. Finalsan is a weed and grass eater so something has to be off in the application rates, or amounts applied to the weeds. Finalsan is very effective.
Reapplying to starve the root system of energy is definitely the correct next step. We appreciate your patience as you transition to an organic approach, and our team is always here if you want to discuss application tips to get the most out of your spray!

Paul This has been the difference between thistle, grass, and creepers overgrowing my landscaping and staying five steps ahead of the weeds. It obviously doesn't kill the whole weed, but I've been able to knock down the new growth again and again in a way I couldn't if I were weeding by hand. After enough applications, I'm finding that the rhizomes of my main problem (thistle) get starved out and stop regrowing. Way better than a torch.
Only challenge is spring growth, when weeds start growing but temperatures are still below 50 degrees, but in direct sun, this works so fast. Very very pleased with the results.

CJ S. So far this has worked better than Glyphosate on our gravel driveway with weeds like Yellow Clover, White Top and even Russian Knapweed before flowering. Spraying was done on regrowth, on a hot summer day about a month after mowing earlier in the season. The shipping was fast with excellent packaging I especially appreciate the tape on the container caps to prevent leaks.

Denise D. I am very unhappy with this product! We have sprayed twice and no weeds or grass have died. We used 6 oz per gallon and the 2nd time we used 12oz/ gallon. I should see something!
We are sorry that you are unhappy with the results of Finalsan. The product is very effective when used at the proper application rates and applied properly. The size of weeds that you provided in the pictures would require the highest application of 21 ounces per gallon and the weeds would need to be coated to drip off. If application directions and methods are not followed the product is not effective.

Linda M. First application (6wks ago) in area of early weed growth, went well. This date new weed growth has emerged from dormancy. I don't think I applied strong enough mix. Planning 2nd application. Have an area weeds are dense, more developed (+/- 3in) applied 32oz/1.5gal water. Joanne S. I bought Finalsan to clear my 5000 sf back yard of weeds and existing growth prior to reseeding with RM BioAg's blend of native grasses and microclover. I was amazed at how quickly this product worked! I was worried that I wouldn't be able to track where I had sprayed and where I hadn't, but that wasn't a problem. It seemed like in a matter of minutes, I could see the beginning of discoloring of the sprayed growth. In a couple of hours, the growth went from green to black.
I cleared not only the yard, but I did perimeter spot spraying of weeds coming up in my back and front yards. I still have about 3/4 gallon left to use. While this is not a pre-emergent herbicide, I plan to continue using this product for general weed control. I just feel so much better about using a product that isn't going to harm the soil or the humans and animals that roam around on it!

Mike A. Works on a wide variety of weeds. I’ve only found broadleaf out of dozens one so far that’s resistant to Finalsan.
Downside, it’s expensive, especially at the high rate. Also, like many organic weed killers, it won’t destroy the root system. It causes severe cell damage to coated parts. So, you have to reapply in a week or so to really kill some plants like grasses Eventually they run out of energy and die after 2-3 cycles.
It does kill some broadleafs like clover and chickweed on the first go.
